Hosting Roo Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Applies to: All users of Hosting Roo’s services, including hosting, domains, and email platforms


1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of Hosting Roo’s services and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP.


2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Hosting Roo’s services to engage in, foster, or promote illegal, abusive, or irresponsible behavior, including but not limited to:

Illegal Activities

  • Disclosing sensitive personal information about others without consent

  • Storing or transmitting “Protected Health Information” as defined under HIPAA

  • Phishing or identity theft

  • Distributing malware or malicious code

  • Promoting or facilitating prostitution or sex trafficking

  • Hosting Ponzi or pyramid schemes or deceptive marketing

  • Hosting or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — such content will be suspended immediately and reported to law enforcement

  • Distributing pornography or escort services

  • Unlawful drug-related content or sales

  • Facilitating or promoting gambling

  • Terrorism or violence-related content

  • Infringing on intellectual property rights


3. Excessive Use of Resources or Network Abuse

You may not consume excessive server/network resources or disrupt Hosting Roo’s infrastructure. Prohibited actions include:

  • Hosting anonymous proxy services

  • Running file-sharing platforms

  • Hosting plugins, scripts, or tasks that strain resources

  • Operating IRC-related software or bots


4. Unauthorized System Access

You may not attempt to access systems or data without permission, including:

  • Probing or scanning networks

  • Launching DoS/DDoS attacks

  • Data interception or packet sniffing

  • Using bots, scrapers, or crawlers on Hosting Roo systems


5. Storage of Backups

While Hosting Roo provides routine backups on shared hosting plans, customers are solely responsible for their own backups.

  • Backups count toward storage limits

  • Excessive backup retention (e.g., cPanel, WHM, WHMCS) may impact performance

  • No external source backups allowed — Hosting Roo is not a remote storage provider

6. Zero Tolerance Spam Policy

Hosting Roo enforces a zero-tolerance policy on spam. You may not use our services to send:

  • Unsolicited bulk or commercial emails

  • Forged headers or deceptive content

  • “Spamvertised” sites

  • Emails from purchased lists or “safe lists”

Violators may be suspended or terminated without notice.


7. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in content removal, service suspension, or account termination. Hosting Roo may contact law enforcement where appropriate.

Failure to respond to our abuse team may result in service disruption.

9. Modifications

Hosting Roo reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Any updates will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.


10. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
