As part of our domain name registration services, Hosting Roo Pty Ltd (“Hosting Roo”, “we”, “our”) is required to collect and publish certain registrant data through the WHOIS and RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) systems, in compliance with ICANN policies and registry requirements.
We are a reseller of domain services provided by:
Realtime Register B.V. (Terms)
Synergy Wholesale Pty Ltd (Reseller Agreement)
These providers are responsible for maintaining registry connections and fulfilling ICANN-mandated data handling obligations.
2. What Data Is Collected
As part of domain registration, the following data may be collected and stored:
Registrant name
Organisation (if applicable)

Technical, administrative, and billing contacts
This information is shared with our providers and the relevant domain registry.
3. Publication of Data
Depending on the domain extension (TLD), some registrant data may be made publicly available via WHOIS or RDAPlookups, unless privacy protection is enabled or the registry operates under a privacy-default model (e.g., GDPR-compliant TLDs).
4. Privacy Protection / Redaction
Where supported, WHOIS privacy or redaction is automatically applied to personal data in line with:
ICANN’s Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data
GDPR and other data protection laws
Provider-specific implementations by Realtime Register and Synergy Wholesale
Registrants may still be contactable through anonymised relay services provided by the registry or data processor.
5. Data Sharing and Transfers
Your data may be shared with:
Our upstream providers (Realtime Register and/or Synergy Wholesale)
Domain registries, as required for TLD provisioning
ICANN or other regulatory authorities upon legitimate request
Hosting Roo, Realtime Register, and Synergy Wholesale take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and privacy-by-design principles.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
Data is processed on the basis of:
Contractual necessity (registering and maintaining the domain)

7. Retention and Deletion
